Early Childhood Help Page
Every student who is between the ages of 3-5, up to their 6th birthday, MUST have an early childhood page completed.
Select 1 of the 3 categories: 38a, 38b, or 38c, to put the child in.
38a is for a child who participates in a general education early childhood setting.
38b is for a child who participates in a special education early childhood setting.
38c is for a child who does not attend a general education OR special education early childhood setting.
The EARLY CHILDHOOD TRANSITION section should be completed for each child as to whether or not:
A. They ever received EI services
B. They received EI services and are transitioning from EI
C. They received EI services but were exited prior to the referral for services

38a is for a child who participates in a general education early childhood setting.
- Any regular education pre-school, an integrated pre-school made up of 51% or more general education students, or a kindergarten classroom, is considered a regular education setting
- To obtain the total hours per week in the regular early education program: multiply the number of hours the child spends in the general education setting by the number of days per week the child attends school.
- Determine and indicate where the child receives the majority of their special education services.
- Indicate the type of regular education early childhood setting in which the child participates.
38b is for a child who participates in a special education early childhood setting.
- Any setting with 50% or less general education students is considered a special education setting.
38c is for a child who does not attend a general education OR special education early childhood setting.
